Sweet. Round. Unmistakably Brazilian.
Yellow Catuaí is one of the most popular arabica varieties in Sør-Minas Gerais, and this lot from Fazenda Santa Barbara shows why. At full ripeness the coffee cherries turn a distinctive golden yellow, a hallmark of this variety.
The coffee is grown at altitude and dried on raised beds after natural processing, allowing the beans to develop a clear expression of their origin.
In the cup you get a full, balanced coffee with dark chocolate and caramel, followed by toasted hazelnuts and a mild, lingering fruit sweetness. Full body and pleasant acidity.
